Closing remarks Safety Week 2009
Safety Week 2009 was a great success. It showed a great commitment and effort of everyone taking part in the world’s largest workplace safety campaign. Our 55.000 employees’ worldwide and more than 200.000 subcontractors were involved. Despite that, during Safety week, we had ten lost time accidents, which is far from our target of Zero work related accidents. We sincerely hope that they all will be back with us shortly.
Some of the highlights of Safety Week 2009 were;
- A 50 percent reduction in the number of lost time accidents which compares to 20 in a yearly average week.
- 1149 Executive Site Safety Visits was carried out during the week
- Tens of thousands taking part in an increasingly number of events worldwide
- Safety Seminars and Conferences attended by our clients, designers and supply chain partners
I would like to thank everyone who helped to organise any event during safety week whether at a jobsite, a depot, office or manufacturing unit and to all of those that took part and making Safety Week 2009 a memorable one.
