Looking out for Safety
Our global measure during Safety Week 2009 was the number of Executive Site Safety Visits (ESSV) accomplished by Skanska Executives. It is defined as a member of the Senior Executive Team, a Business Unit President and Nominated Senior Managers making site safety project visits. The site safety visit included fact finding through observations and an opportunity for feedback. The two themes for Safety Week 2009 were “Planning” and "Visible Leadership"; therefore having discussions with site leadership and craft workers regarding how safety is included in their daily planning is a conversation that are both vital and consistent with the 2009 theme.
The graph displayed here provides the collated number of ESSVs across the Skanska Group performed during the week. It was updated daily and display a green arrow which increased by the number of visits completed. Target for Safety Week 2009 was 1000 ESSVs, which were exceeded by 158 visits.
