Phase 1, Line role
32 weeks, home unit
Your future begins. This is the starting point where you’ll be immersed in understanding your local Skanska business unit, inside and out.


Phase 2, Task assignment
20 weeks, abroad
Passport ready? Your first on-the-job experience will allow you to learn how another business unit operates by working in an international environment.


Phase 3, Staff assignment
12 weeks, home unit
Welcome home. The training you’ll receive now will provide deeper insights into understanding more strategic issues for Skanska.


Phase 4, Special assignment
3 weeks, abroad
Pack your toothbrush again. An
assignment specifically suited to your strengths is identified – so you can apply the skills you’ve developed.

Training, 11 weeks in total
Between the individual phases of the program, you’ll also receive training in four specific areas – Skanska knowledge, leadership, project management and professional development. This will provide you with the personal understanding and ability to take on future managerial responsibilities.
Mentor relationship
From day one at Skanska, you’ll be paired with a mentor who will offer invaluable one-on-one support as you progress throughout the Global Trainee Program, as well as the rest of your career at Skanska. This will provide you with the advice and inspiration needed for both personal and professional development.
