New President and CEO for Skanska

Johan Karlström has been appointed new President and Chief Executive Officer of Skanska. He will succeed Stuart Graham, who has notified the Board of his intention to step down from his position during 2008.

“I am driven by challenges and becoming the CEO of Skanska is the biggest challenge for me. Getting this opportunity to be part of developing and influencing in a company in which I truly believe will be very exciting,” says Johan Karlström.

On April 3, 2008 he will take over as President and CEO of Skanska. He began as a carpenter and quickly became impassioned about the industry – a trait that combined with an interest in people has taken him into a number of different positions through the years, most recently as senior executive for Skanska’s construction operations in the US.

Johan has been a member of the Senior Executive Team since 2001. He has been part of developing the business plan and the new financial goals set by the Board of Directors for the period 2008-2010.

“Our goals and strategies are set. I have been involved in developing them. I support them and am looking forward to leading the work to realize them,” says Johan Karlström.
