Skanska has signed a ten-year highways maintenance contract with Cambridgeshire County Council, in the east of England. The total value over the course of the contract will be GBP 320M, about SEK 3.6 billion. The first two years of revenue, GBP 64M, about SEK 710 million, will be included in the order bookings for Europe in the second quarter 2017.
Skanska will provide a range of highways maintenance services, which includes: emergency response and winter service; surfacing and surface treatment works and patching; drainage and gully maintenance; street lighting; and footway construction and resurfacing.
The contract runs from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2027, with an option to extend it for up to a further five years.
The previous contract commenced in 2006 and this is the second term for Skanska. This contract award sees further growth for Skanska’s highways maintenance delivery across the UK, where it already maintains about 17,000 kilometers (11,000 miles) of roads.
