Project information
We transformed a historic 1904 commercial office building into a nine-story, 203-room boutique hotel. The project included seismic structural upgrades and a new story inserted within the ground-level floor. To overcome a tight schedule, we created a unique phasing plan that allowed work to begin concurrently in the building’s lower and upper levels.

Innovation with impact
Rather than working from the basement up, we installed transfer beams, allowing us to work from the top down and from the basement up simultaneously, which saved more than a month on the project’s schedule.
