Kayenta Mine Reclamation Services

Bulldozer grading red soil on a rocky slope near a water body in a rural landscape.

Project information

The reclamation took place under a multiyear contract with the largest U.S. coal producer and in conjunction with the Navajo Nation. We conserved topsoil from areas before they were mined and replaced that soil after mining for revegetation. The project yielded productive range for use by Navajo ranchers and livestock growers. We maintained 200 miles of roads within the mine area.
