Project information

This scour remediation project constructed stone blankets and stone dikes over and around portions of the submerged Thimble Shoal and Chesapeake Channel Tunnels as well as along the bridge’s trestle sections. It involved placing approximately 30,000 tons of coarse aggregate and 275,000 tons of class II riprap underwater. All work was completed within the bay’s navigable channel.
