Innovative and sustainable solutions

Innovative and sustainable solutions in construction are a key part of Skanska’s strategy. We focus on the sustainability of our products and services, customer needs, durability, productivity and other areas supported by BIM and digitalization. We collaborate with external partners, including universities, research institutions, startups and suppliers.

Our main focus areas

Impact on the environment

Safety and efficiency

Digitalization and productivity

Environmental impact

We develop and implement sustainable technologies and processes focused on the circular economy, reuse and new construction materials, with the aim of reducing climate impact and conserving natural resources. We also create conditions for climate-smart production and machinery, including low-emission and zero-emission operations and fuels.

Safety and efficiency

We are increasing the use of automation, prefabrication and robotics in production and expanding the use of tools and machinery to improve safety, quality, durability and productivity on construction sites.
