New Skanska report highlights the future of urban value

Our new report, Shaping Sustainable Places, urges cities, developers and investors to move beyond short-term individual project delivery and focus on a more holistic view to city development that considers both long-term social and financial value creation.

The report targets investors, tenants and decision-makers who are committed to fostering enduring value in cities and urban environments. Cities that fail to plan for long-term performance risk weakening resilience, competitiveness, and economic value.

We identify four key actions: design for change, work together, design with and for people, and measure what matters.

As urban challenges become increasingly complex, the report highlights the need to plan, deliver, and manage places with long-term value in mind. Adaptable and resilient design reduces risk, protects investment value, and strengthens competitiveness, while social, environmental, and economic performance must be integrated from the start.
