Culture of Care is shaping the construction industry

Our work is guided by our LIFE culture. This means that everyone is responsible for taking care of themselves and their colleagues, as well as our shared occupational safety, wellbeing at work, and the environment.

We all have a reason to get home from work healthy

The roles printed on the backs of our work jackets—father, sister, grandmother, friend—remind everyone on site why we work safely, or not at all.

Our Culture of Care supports success

Caring promotes open discussion and the sharing of information, and thereby supports the success of all parties. Creating a safe and caring workplace requires each and every one of us.

Shared construction site

Our construction sites are shared workplaces for us and our partners. Everyone’s choices influence how safe our shared working environment is. Our LIFE culture includes discussions and forums in which our partners also take part.

Caring for people is reflected in Skanska’s safety culture, which applies to our own employees, contractors, and temporary workers alike. Reminding someone, for example, to use personal protective equipment is an act of care—so that everyone gets home healthy.
