Skanska carried out an extensive renovation of the iconic Finlandia Hall, which was comprehensively restored in terms of interiors and facade, respecting the original design by Alvar Aalto. The project was handed over to the client two weeks ahead of schedule.

The new building technology solutions were designed so that they do not change the historical appearance or architectural details.

The benches in Finlandia Hall were restored without removing them at any stage during the basic renovation.

In the renovation, numerous pieces of furniture and materials requiring skilled craftsmanship were restored.
The renovation also included the refurbishment of approximately 2,150 light fixtures in Finlandia Hall. Energy-efficient LED technology was installed in most of them, enabling more versatile use and control of the fixtures.
In the demanding basic renovation, a three-dimensional virtual model of the building created using laser scanning, also known as a digital twin, was helpful.
The basic renovation also included the refurbishment of approximately 2,150 light fixtures in Finlandia Hall.
The conference rooms in the main building were also renovated, and now their building technology meets modern requirements.
