Project information

We built Finland's first combined tram and bus depot which functions as Helsinki's second main depot for tram traffic. The new bus and tram depot has space for 100 long trams. Additionally, the depot includes facilities for daily inspections, cleaning, regular maintenance, and necessary repairs of the vehicles.

The direction of tram travel, changed during the development phase from counterclockwise to clockwise, enhances depot operations: trams can be driven directly from daily maintenance to storage without having to make an extra lap in the depot.

The new depot has facilities for the daily inspections, cleaning, as well as regular maintenance and necessary repairs of the wagons.

There is a parking area for about 200 buses on the depot roof. Each bus parking space is equipped for an electric bus charging point.
