Project information

In Gothenburg, Skanska is renovating Packhuskajen. The quay stretches from Stora Bommen and eastwards towards Jussi Björling's place at the Göteborg Opera. The place is culturally historically important and part of the fortifications around old Gothenburg.

The project's first phase was carried out between December 2019 and September 2021
In March 2022, phase two started, picking up where the first phase left off.
Phase three is still being planned. The remaining quay construction, from the floating ship museum Maritiman to the quayside at the opera, will be renovated.
During phase one, 140 meters of the quay were renovated.
The quay is an important part of Gothenburg and needs to be renovated to meet future requirements.
The river edge protection protects against high water levels.
The river edge protection is welded to withstand the forces of nature.
The project started in 2019.
Phase two will be completed in February 2024, if everything goes according to plan.
