Processing of personal data

Introduction

Skanska cares about your personal privacy and strives for a high level of protection in all processing of personal data. Within the EU/EEA, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) ¹ applies from May 2018.

Skanska Sverige AB, or the company otherwise stated to be the data controller, is responsible in accordance with applicable data protection legislation for the processing of your personal data as stated below. If you have any questions regarding this information text, or if you want to exercise any of your rights as stated below, you can contact Skanska via the contact details in Contact Information.

Collection and processing of personal data

Personal data refers to such information that, directly or indirectly, can be linked to you as an individual. Examples of such information are name, image, personal identification number, contact details, competition entries, choices made, behaviors, or IP address. Processing of personal data refers to all measures that we or a third party take with the personal data, such as collection, registration, and storage.

Personal data may only be processed for specific and explicitly stated purposes and may thereafter not be processed for any purpose that goes beyond these purposes.

We at Skanska process personal data that you have provided to us yourself for the purpose of administering inquiries from you and any agreements with you, as well as to provide information and service in connection with such inquiries and agreements. This may, for example, be expressions of interest for our rental apartments, for competitions advertised on our website in which you choose to participate, or subscriptions to our newsletters that you order.

Your personal data may also be used for marketing and follow-ups, as well as for our sales and product development with the aim of improving our products and services. If you do not wish to receive marketing and/or offers, please contact us via the contact details found in Contact Information.

Finally, personal data is also processed for statistical purposes to see how users utilize the website and to analyze search behavior, as well as to show you customized content. Such data is, however, only processed in aggregated form or in a form that cannot identify you as an individual. Data is also processed indirectly in connection with the development, testing, and management of the IT systems linked to our website.

When you use functions on our website that allow you to upload information or other material on our website, please note that such information may also contain personal data. In the event your information contains details about other persons, you may only upload such information if you have obtained their consent to provide it.

Legal basis for processing and storage period

Skanska always processes your personal data in accordance with applicable legislation. We process your personal data when it is necessary to fulfill a contract with you and when we have another legitimate and justified interest in processing your personal data, for example an interest in marketing ourselves to visitors on the website or an interest in developing our website or our products and/or services. If we were to process your personal data for any purpose that according to applicable legislation requires your consent, we will obtain your consent before starting such processing.

The data we collect in accordance with the above will be deleted when the purposes of the processing have been fulfilled.

Security to protect personal data

Skanska values high security for your personal data and has therefore taken appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, dissemination or destruction.

Restrictions on disclosure of personal data

We may engage external partners to perform tasks on our behalf, for example to provide IT services or assist with marketing, administration of press releases, analyses or statistics. The performance of these services may mean that our partners, both within the EU/EEA and outside the EU/EEA, gain access to your personal data. Companies that handle personal data on our behalf must always sign agreements with us so that we can ensure a high level of protection for your personal data also with our partners.

In relation to partners outside the EU/EEA, special protective measures are taken, such as signing agreements that include the standardized model clauses for data transfers adopted by the EU Commission and available on the EU Commission's website.

Skanska may also disclose personal data to third parties, such as the police or other authorities, if it concerns criminal investigations or if we are otherwise obliged to disclose such information under law or official decision.

Skanska will not disclose your personal data to any other extent than described in this section.
