Skanska expands Portland International Airport in Portland, USA, for USD 151M, about SEK 1.3 billion

Skanska has signed a contract with The Port of Portland for the expansion and renovation of Portland International Airport in Portland, Oregon, USA. The contract is worth USD 151M, about SEK 1.3 billion, which will be included in the US order bookings for the third quarter 2017.

The project entails a 14,000 square meter, about 250 meter long two-story expansion of Concourse E, including the addition of six additional gates. The scope also includes airside sitework, modifications to baggage handling systems and various renovations within the existing terminal.

The project will increase the efficiency of airport operations, prolong the longevity of existing terminal facilities, increase the seismic resiliency of the concourse and enhance the level of service for passengers.

Construction has started with anticipated completion in 2020.
