Skanska sells nursing home in Gothenburg, Sweden, for about SEK 240M
Skanska has sold a nursing home under construction in Gothenburg, Sweden, for about SEK 240 million. The buyer is property fund managed by Northern Horizon and Ambea will become the tenant. The transaction will be recorded by Skanska Commercial Property Development in the fourth quarter 2017. The transfer of the property is scheduled for the spring 2019, in connection with completion.
The project comprises a retirement home with 72 apartments on five floors located in the center of Angered, Gothenburg. The nursing home of about 5,300 square meters has been developed by Skanska in cooperation with Ambea and is the first phase in a major investment in new housing in the district from several actors. Skanska will also build apartments in the area managed by BoKlok.
The intention is that the building will be certified according to LEED Gold. The LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) environmental certification system focuses on energy consumption and sustainable materials selection.
Construction work has begun and the project is scheduled to be completed during the first quarter 2019.
