Skanska has sold Maraton, an office building in Poznan, Poland, to a real estate fund managed by Union Investment. The value of the transaction is EUR 62 M, about SEK 590 M. The transaction will be recorded by Skanska Commercial Development Europe in the first quarter of 2017, with the transfer of the property scheduled for the second quarter of 2017.
Maraton, with a total leasable area of 26,000 square meters, is 70 percent leased. The building was commissioned for use in December 2016.
The building is located in the very heart of Poznan, in close proximity to the city's main railway station, the Old Square, the Old Brewery center of commerce and art as well as four parks. It is equipped with numerous green solutions and is LEED Gold pre-certified. The project’s other important advantages also include a publicly available patio with a fountain and green terraces on the roof which provide an opportunity to work outside.
