Skanska builds new acute care hospital building in Hollywood, USA, for USD 188 M, about SEK 1.6 billion

Skanska has signed a contract with CHA Hollywood Medical Center, L.P. to construct the new Acute Care Hospital Building at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Hollywood, California, USA. The contract is worth USD 188 M, about SEK 1.6 billion, which will be included in the US order bookings for the second quarter of 2018.

The project consists of a new 16,350 square meter, five-story building and will replace the existing emergency department and kitchen. The building will include medical/surgical patient unit, NICU, clinical lab, morgue and information technology services. Additionally, various demolition and upgrades of existing structures are required to support the new tower including remodeling about 1,900 square meters of the adjacent existing patient tower. Other work includes renovation of the existing courtyard and lobby and construction of a new ramp for the existing parking.

Construction is under way and will conclude in late 2020.
