Press release (regulatory)
Skanska has sold a retirement home in Växjö, Sweden, for about SEK 240 M. Buyers are Nordiska Vårdhem AB (Northern Horizons Health Property Fund) and the tenant is Humana AB. The transaction will be booked in the Commercial Property Development stream in the fourth quarter of 2018. The retirement home is in operation since June 2017. It will be handed over on January 31, 2019.
The project comprises a retirement home with about 70 apartments spread over four floors. On the roof there is a terrace and a small greenhouse for the residents. It is a traditional retirement home with a strong environmental focus. The ambition is that the retirement home will receive a LEED Platinum environmental certification.
Skanska is one of the leading development and construction companies in the Nordics, with operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and developing residential- and commercial property projects in select home markets. The commercial development stream is also active in Denmark. Skanska offers services in public-private partnerships.
