Skanska builds new hotel for Fabege in Solna, Sweden, for about SEK 470 M

Skanska has signed a contract with Fabege to build Scandinavia's first zero energy hotel in Solna, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 470 M, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Sweden for the first quarter 2019.

20190318 SE Hotel Solna

The project consists of about 22,400 square meter spread over 11 floors. The hotel will be part of the Nordic Choice Hotels chain Comfort Hotel with 336 rooms, 88 apartments for long-term accommodation and Nordic Choice Hotels Swedish headquarters.

The building is designed for a very low energy consumption and will be certified according to FEBY 18 Gold, a certification used for energy-efficient buildings, and BREEAM level Excellent. BREEAM is an international standard that places tough demands on indoor climate, non-toxic materials and also requirements for ventilation and lighting conditions.

The construction work will begin immediately and the new hotel is scheduled for completion during the first quarter 2021.

Skanska is one of the leading development and construction companies in the Nordics, with operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and developing residential- and commercial property projects in select home markets. The commercial development stream is also active in Denmark. Skanska had sales of about SEK 67 billion and more than 15,500 employees in its Nordic operations during 2018.
