In the emerging district of Bromstensstaden in northwest Stockholm, Skanska is developing and building the multi-family rental project Tora. It comprises four buildings with a total of 145 rental apartments, including 10 apartments for people with special needs, garage and approximately 320 square meters of commercial premises on the ground floor.

The project has great focus on minimizing climate impact. Skanska’s green concrete, which has a halved climate impact compared to regular concrete, as well as solar panels on the roofs, are examples of measures that contribute to lower emissions. Materials has also been chosen carefully. According to the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s calculation model, the climate emission for Tora is estimated at 260 kg CO2/square meter gross area, which is approximately 20 percent lower than a comparable building built in a traditional way.

Preparatory work has begun, and the project will be completed by the end of 2024.

Skanska has developed and built 1,800 new rental apartments in Sweden and has approximately an additional 1,300 units under production in Sweden.

Skanska is one of the leading construction- and project development companies in the Nordics, with operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and developing residential- and commercial property projects in select home markets. The commercial development stream is also active in Denmark. Skanska had sales of about SEK 66 billion and about 14,800 employees in its Nordic operations during 2020.
