Skanska is carrying out remaining and additional work at Slussen, Sweden, to an additional value of about SEK 1.5 billion

Skanska and the Development Office, City of Stockholm, have agreed on a new target cost for remaining and additional work on the reconstruction of Slussen, Stockholm, Sweden. The new target cost generates an order booking of about SEK 1.5 billion, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Sweden for the second quarter 2021.

Additional work includes the foundation and construction of the building called Mälarterrassen, which is integrated into the city's facility. Planning and landscaping work are included. In addition, structural- and installation work, work with an art building and anchorages for a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge are also included. This means an extended contract period, partly due to archaeological excavations.

Skanska's assignment at Slussen started in 2015. The new agreement with additional work stipulates completion by the first of June 2025.

Skanska is already carrying out four contracts at Slussen. These include the lock itself with associated drainage channels, the Slussen bridge, low bridges, docks- and reinforcement work and associated work with the marketplace that is also being built. In addition, Skanska is carrying out structural work for the future bus garage.

Skanska is one of the leading construction- and project development companies in the Nordics, with operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and developing residential- and commercial property projects in select home markets. The commercial development stream is also active in Denmark. Skanska had sales of about SEK 66 billion and about 14,800 employees in its Nordic operations during 2020.
