Press release
Skanska invests CZK 970M, about SEK 410M, in the first phase of the new residential development project Modransky cukrovar in Prague, Czech Republic. This phase comprises 112 housing units and seven commercial premises.
The residents of Modransky cukrovar will be enabled to efficiently utilize renewable water and energy resources through progressive solutions, and the development project aims to provide space for good neighborly relations. The dominant features will be the new central square and a pedestrian zone, a linear park for recreation and a revitalized part of the Vltava embankment.
The project aspires to achieve BREEAM rating and is committed to the use of solar energy, recycled building materials and elements supporting community life. The complex has an extensive application of green roofs and greenery in the form of hundreds of solitary trees, orchard or meadow. It is designed to save up to 47 percent of the drinking water through blue-green-gray infrastructure, which refers to the integration of functions within stormwater management.
The project comprises 797 housing units in total, planned in six phases.
Construction of the first phase starts in June 2022 and is scheduled for completion at the end of 2024.
