Press release
Skanska has signed a contract with Sogn og Fjordane Energi (SFE) for the construction of the new Øksenelvane power plant in the municipality of Bremanger, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 434M, about SEK 430M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2024.
Skanska will build an entirely new power plant close to the existing facility. The contract includes all construction-related work for the new station, including the construction of a new intake, new water tunnels, and an underground power station. The new Øksenelvane power plant will replace the current power station, which has been in operation for over 70 years and requires extensive rehabilitation. It will produce 171 GWh per year, which can supply 10,000 households with electricity.
Construction will begin in April 2025 and be completed in March 2028.
