Skanska modernizes train station Limanowa, Poland, for PLN 272M, about SEK 720M

Skanska has signed a contract with PKP Polish Railway Lines S.A. to modernize the train station in Limanowa along railroad line 104 in southern Poland. The contract is worth PLN 272M, about SEK 720M, which will be included in the order bookings for Europe for the third quarter of 2024.

The project consists of modernization of the Limanowa station. This includes work on a railroad of approximately 3.5 kilometers. The station in Limanowa will be rebuilt, two platforms and an underpass will be built from scratch. A new traffic system will be built around it: access roads, sidewalks, two overpasses and three bridges, as well as work on overhead catenary, underground networks, automation and traffic control equipment.

The project is part of connecting route 104 with the regional capital Krakow, which will shorten the travel time, and create new development opportunities.

Work will begin in August and is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.
