The existing agreement between the parties for the design phase (phase 1) is now supplemented by a contract for the production phase (phase 2). Skanska's assignment includes the construction of a new climate-adapted access road to Karlskrona. The access road will be climate-adapted by raising it approximately one meter in relation to the existing road. The assignment also includes foundation work, demolition of the existing road and bridge, construction of two bridges over watercourses and associated groundworks.

The purpose of the new access road is to ensure future transportation to the city center and create an inviting entrance.

Construction will start in the first quarter of 2026 and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2028.
