Skanska builds school in Sandefjord, Norway for NOK 409M, about SEK 400M

Skanska has signed a contract with the Municipality of Sandefjord to build a new school in Vesterøya, south of Oslo, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 409M, about SEK 400M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the first quarter 2025. 

The new school campus will be approximately 9,400 square meters and contain a new school building and a multi-purpose sports hall.  

The project has ambitious climate and environmental goals. The buildings will mainly be constructed with cross laminated timber and the project targets a 40% reduction in emissions compared with reference projects. The school will be an energy-positive building. 

Construction starts in March 2025 with completion in July 2026.
