Press release
Skanska invests CZK 1.2 billion, about SEK 540M, in the third phase of Modransky cukrovar, a residential project in Prague, Czech Republic. The construction contract is worth CZK 898M, about SEK 400M, which will be included in the order bookings for Europe for the third quarter of 2025.
This phase will feature 132 low-energy apartments spread across four buildings. The concept of low-impact living is interwoven throughout the project, from high energy efficiency buildings to the use of recycled materials and extensive blue, green and grey infrastructure. Modransky cukrovar aspires to achieve a BREEAM rating, level Excellent.
The dominant feature of the project will be a new spacious 3,700 square meter large square, which will become the center of the residential area. The third phase will also include a relaxation zone, an open-air pavilion and art installations made by Czech sculptors selected through the Art.Cukrovar open competition.
Comprising approximately 800 housing units in total, the project is delivered in six phases. The construction of the third phase starts in August 2025 and is scheduled for completion in 2028.
