Skanska has signed a contract with Northern Kentucky University for renovations to the school’s campus in Highland Heights, KY, USA. The contract is worth USD 72M, about SEK 780M, which will be included in the U.S. order bookings for the first quarter 2025.
The project includes a 79,925-square foot (7,400-square meter) addition to the existing Dorothy Westerman Herrmann Science Center, aimed at unifying various academic programs into a centralized STEM facility. This new addition will accommodate departments such as Biological Sciences, Physics, Geology & Engineering Technology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, and Engineering Technology. Additionally, the project includes minor renovations to the current science center.
Site preparations began in October 2024 to allow for a Q1 2025 start. The project is expected to reach completion in August of 2027.
