Early contractor involvement & value-driven project development
When we early connect the customer's needs with our execution power and the best advisors, something special happens. The projects become smarter, safer, and more sustainable. With collaboration and value-driven project development, we follow the customer from idea to finished building. The result? Projects that deliver on cost, quality, climate, and usability.

Why collaborate with Skanska?
Common goals from day one
We start with setting expectations: What will the project cost? When will it be completed? What provides value? Then we establish a goal hierarchy that all parties own and work according to. When everyone pulls in the same direction from day one, we avoid misunderstandings and rework later. Shared goals not only create predictability – they create an arena where we together find what is best for the project.
Early involvement of the right expertise
With early contractor involvement our expertise is there from the start. We work interdisciplinarily from the early phase: project developers, production, sustainability experts, and technologists collaborate with the client and consultants. When we test alternatives early, we can see the consequences for cost, climate, construction time, and operation – long before the project is locked in.
Openness and trust as a way of working
Open calculations, transparent decision bases, and shared incentive models. Everyone sees the same figures, the same risks, and the same priorities. No hidden agendas. This provides a completely different quality of collaboration. Co-location, shared meeting structures, and an integrated organization lead to faster decisions and better communication. Interaction reduces the level of conflict and creates pace, security, and results.
Experience from complex projects
We have led these phases in some of Norway's most demanding construction projects. Our experience ranges from large public healthcare buildings to complex urban development projects – all with one thing in common: they required close cooperation, early involvement, and smart project development.
Early contractor involvement resulted in enormous savings
At Lindesnes Health House, we have worked in collaboration with the municipality from day one. Together, we developed the concept through an open collaboration phase, where costs, solutions, and risks were assessed. This resulted in a more robust project and a stronger decision-making basis before contract signing. The collaboration made it possible to raise climate ambitions without increasing the cost framework. After discussions with Skanska, the municipality chose solutions that significantly reduce energy consumption and provide at least 10 million kroner in annual savings. The result is a health house that will be among the world's most energy-efficient – developed in a partnership characterized by openness, trust, and shared goals.

Early contractor involvement & value-driven project development leads to better decisions
For Skanska, collaboration is an important tool in projects where complexity, ambitions, and social responsibility require more than traditional contract forms.
