Building with lower climate impact

We contribute to sustainable development by creating transformative solutions with minimized climate impact, on the way towards our goal of achieving net zero carbon dioxide equivalents in the value chain by 2045.

Net zero carbon dioxide emissions in the value chain

We want to achieve net zero carbon emissions in the value chain – in our production and our construction projects, which includes materials from suppliers and subcontractors as well as the customers' operation of what we build.

This is what we will achieve within climate

2045

Net zero in our own operations and value chain by 2045

70 %

We will reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide equivalents from our own operations (scope 1–2) by 70 percent by 2030.

50 %

We will reduce emissions of carbon dioxide equivalents in project development (scope 3) by 50 percent by 2030.

1/2

Skanska Sweden supports the roadmap for fossil-free competitiveness in the construction and civil engineering sector, which means that we will halve emissions in the value chain by 2030 compared to 2015.

Solutions for construction with lower climate impact

The solutions must be circular, resource- and energy-efficient, and involve reduced carbon dioxide emissions. To achieve this, knowledge, insight, and continuous learning are required. Therefore, we collaborate to share knowledge and develop new solutions for the built environment. These solutions must be scaled up to achieve the transformation of the industry that leads to communities with reduced emissions.
