Ethics

We strive for all our actions to be in accordance with the highest ethical standards and our values. The Skanska Code of Conduct and the Supplier Code of Conduct contain the guidelines necessary to achieve this goal.

High moral standards

We operate ethically and transparently in all markets where we conduct our business. Our Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct define what we expect from our supply chain and all our partners.

Our values are of key importance

Our Code of Conduct is based on Skanska’s values and is crucial for their implementation in daily life. Skanska’s values are not just words. They are a real commitment to a responsible, sustainable way of doing business, allowing us to be a trusted partner for our clients.

Our values are of key importance

The Code of Conduct specifies the manner of conduct during contacts with our collaborators, clients, communities in which we operate, and other stakeholders. It contains practical guidelines for our employees regarding behavior in accordance with our values.

Transparent guidelines

The Skanska Code of Conduct aims to provide clear guidelines, therefore it has been divided into three parts:

1

Our commitments in the workplace

The section dedicated to the sustainable management of Skanska's assets and creating a fair, healthy, safe, and inclusive work environment where everyone can improve their professional skills and develop.

2

Our commitments in the market

The section dedicated to our relationships in the market and supply chain. We always strive to understand and anticipate the needs of our customers, suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders, act honestly and responsibly, so that our work delivers high-quality results, is timely, and stays within the planned costs.

3

Our corporate commitments

The section dedicated to our commitments towards society. We are always looking for new ways to reduce the impact of our activities on the environment, promote fair competition, and improve the communities in which we live and work.

Culture of openness

Our Code of Conduct contains guidelines for employees. However, they will still face ethical dilemmas. We promote a culture of transparency in the workplace, based on open, regular discussions of ethical issues. We want our employees to feel confident discussing matters and dilemmas related to ethics with their supervisors and others. All employees must have the assurance that they can report violations of our Code of Conduct.

Reporting violations

Each Skanska Business Unit has an Ethics Committee that investigates all reports of violations of our Code. One way to report concerns is the Code of Conduct Hotline. It is available to both employees and third parties, including clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Reporting violations

To report suspected ethical violations and breaches of the Code of Conduct by Skanska, use one of the selected communication methods. Regardless of the reporting method, all reports are taken seriously and the confidentiality of the reporting person's information is maintained. We have a ban on retaliatory actions in place, aimed at protecting all individuals making reports in good faith.

Business Ethics

According to statistical data from the Transparency International group, which deals with anti-corruption efforts, the construction industry has some of the worst ratings among all branches of industry. This poses a huge challenge for Skanska. In 2002, we published our Code of Conduct for the first time, and in 2003 we made available separate "Compliance Guidelines," which are intended to help implement the principles of the Code of Conduct. As a member of the engineering and construction group, during the World Economic Forum in 2004 Skanska was a founder of the "Anti-Corruption Initiative" (the so-called PACI Principles).
