The health and safety of our colleagues and subcontractors is our highest priority.

Safety is a key value for us at Skanska. A safe workplace is for us the key to a successful project, and we treat it with the utmost attention.
Health and Safety standards are basic rules that help us ensure a high level of safety on our projects. They are based on legal regulations and often extend them, especially in the case of high-risk work, such as transport work, work at heights, etc. Compliance with them is supervised and supported by implementation teams.

Safety management begins with proper planning. We focus on planning from the initial design, through the implementation phase, until its completion. First, we try to eliminate hazards so that they do not occur at all. Next, we choose technical and often innovative safety measures to minimize risk. Finally, we implement organizational measures and personal protective equipment to reduce the impact of remaining hazards. A construction investment is like a living organism that requires coordination of the ongoing work. Therefore, we emphasize safe work planning as our daily routine.

The Integrated Management System, operating in each of our Business Units, is a coherent, documented system that enables management of multiple aspects based on objectives derived from established policies. Our goals within the management systems for safety, occupational hygiene, environment, and quality are implemented in accordance with the requirements of ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001:2015 standards as well as the requirements of AQAP 2110:2016.
