For the fourth time, we have been recognized as a Climate Leader Europe 2025 by the Financial Times and Statista. We achieved this through significant reduction of our carbon footprint, transparent emission reporting in our annual sustainability report, and our net-zero goal by 2045, including low-carbon solutions in construction.

Access4you certification is an international, audited qualification that validates the accessibility of built environments for people with special needs, including wheelchair users, the elderly, and the visually or hearing impaired.

WiredScore

WiredScore certification recognizes and promotes best-in-class digitally connected buildings globally and helps increase the value of the building for both potential tenants and future owners.

SmartScore

SmartScore certification is a global standard developed by WiredScore that evaluates and rates how technologically advanced a building is.

We have been publishing reports on our environmental impact since 1997, long before it became a market standard.

Our goal is to implement low-emission construction in all our investments, ultimately achieving net-zero emissions by 2045. This includes a transitional target of reducing our own emissions (scope 1 and 2) by 70% by 2030 compared to emissions from 2015 and reducing emissions in the value chain within the development of our projects (scope 3) by 50% compared to emissions from 2020.

Our climate goal is based on scientific data, in line with the requirements of the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). It has received accreditation for compliance with the restrictions required to maintain global warming at 1.5°C - in accordance with the goal of the Paris Agreement.

Actions we take to reduce CO2 emissions vary depending on the investment — thus, the impact of decisions made during various stages of its implementation also differs.

Decisions made at an early stage have a significant impact on reducing the use of materials with a high carbon footprint, and creating energy-efficient solutions significantly limits the total CO2 emissions resulting from the implementation of the investment.

Skanska has been measuring carbon dioxide emissions and reporting them since 2008. The year 2015 is our baseline year concerning our own emissions (scope 1 and 2). In recent years, we have expanded and improved the quality of data regarding our value chain and use the year 2020 as the baseline year for our value chain emissions (scope 3).

Confirmation of the direction we have taken is a scientifically approved climate goal, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by 70% by 2030 and achieve Skanska's emission neutrality by 2045.
