Skanska A/S has just delivered a new attractive residential area close to Amager Beach Park. 'Øresund Park' for Balder Danmark A/S. It is Skanska's largest residential project to date with a combination of "townhouses," apartments, and penthouse residences.
On the ground floor, row house-inspired apartments have been built in two stories with attached gardens; from the 3rd to the 5th floor there are smaller apartments, and at the top, penthouse apartments with views over the Øresund or Copenhagen's skyline from their own balconies. The development is connected by green courtyards that open up to the surrounding area, allowing free movement through the development.
The attractive homes are located only four kilometers from Copenhagen city center, Øresund Metro station right at the door, and just a few minutes' walk from Amager Beach Park's park and beach areas.
”With the completion of Øresund Park, we are also helping to finish the entire area. We developed the homes Øresund Strandpark from 2002-2008, and it is a pleasure today to deliver 438 high-standard homes to Balder Danmark A/S, almost all of which are rented out,” says Peter Nymann, director at Skanska A/S.
Attractive homes
Satisfaction is also found with the Swedish real estate company Balder Danmark A/S, which has invested 1.2 billion DKK in the homes. The project is also the largest newly built project in the real estate company's Danish portfolio.
”The architecture, variation, and quality of the homes have been achieved to perfection, and it is also one of the most energy-efficient in our portfolio. It is attractive for many to live here, as cars are kept completely away from the green areas and there are many different housing types gathered in one place. It is a reference project for several future constructions under the Balder umbrella,” says Jacob Hovmøller, Project Manager Balder Danmark A/S.
It is Henning Larsen Architects who have designed Øresund Park, including penthouse apartments up to the 13th floor.
”I am incredibly proud that, together with Balder and Skanska, we have achieved our ambition to build a lively and inviting residential area, which with its inner courtyards has the potential to create a unique community and village atmosphere in the middle of the city. With the good materials, variation in housing types, and the black boxes with penthouses on top, I also believe we have provided a unique proposal for how future Copenhagen blocks can look,” says Partner, Design Director, Architect MAA, Søren Øllgaard.
